Stuck for things to do in the Capital this month? Looking for a unique way to spend your summer evenings? Seeking the ultimate date idea that your other half just won’t have thought of? We’re got you covered.
With the joys of June comes the joys of pop-ups, often making for some of the highlights of the Capital’s summer calendar and an ideal way to do something totally unique right on your doorstep. Here are five London pop-ups that we’d urge you try out, experience and get down to this month.
Martinis & Meringues at Quaglinos
Quaglinos really know how to welcome in the summer. In celebration of the June month, the Mayfair seafood specialists and famous brasserie welcome two of the baking world’s finest exports – The Meringue Girls – for an exclusive (and mouth-wateringly good) Martini & Meringue Pop-Up cocktail and dessert bar to showcase the vivid flavours and colours that go hand-in-hand with the month.
Each cocktail has been created especially by Head Bartender Davide Arruci with each of the four Martinis (Cherry Kiss, French Kiss, Classy Kiss and Rose Kiss) accompanied with its own unique meringue kiss. Better still, Quaglinos have extended the pop-up to a sensory dessert bar “that will rival the very best in London.” Both pop-up and dessert bar centre around a one-off installation of meringue kisses and flowers from The Meringue Girls themselves with £1 from each bill being donated to The Gynaecological Cancer Fund’s Lady Garden Campaign (#Blossomcity17 ).
We’re sure that as far as unique date ideas go, this would be fairly high up there. For tickets and availability, take a look right here.
Lates at the Dulwich Picture Gallery
Celebrating a grand 200 years since opening to the public, the world’s oldest public gallery is playing host to a series of Friday late evening events within its grounds aiming to make the most of their debut garden pavilion installation. Bringing their audience face-to-face with film, performance and music experts, each of the Friday lates is totally free and perfect when accompanied with a cocktail in hand…

Allow us to try and convince you that spending the evening atop a multistory car park in Stratford really is a good idea… Returning for the fourth year, Roof East and Social Fun & Games Club team up for a summer of curated events including rooftop roller-disco, a hip-hop inspired pétanque from De La Bowl and Rooftop Film Club alongside one of London’s finest sky-highs bars.

Bespoke Gin Making with Half Hitch
For those unaware, Camden Lock used to pride itself as London’s hub of all-things-gin, from distillery to storage to shipment via express train. Keeping Camden’s gin history alive is Half Hitch Gin microdistillery, tucked away in the midst of Camden Market and a sight you’ll only have noticed if you’ve intentionally gone looking for it. Throughout June, they’re inviting you to join in the gin-centric tradition with a BYOB (bring your own botanical) distillation class and hour-long masterclass. A pretty good date setting or even better gift idea if you ask us.

We haven’t hidden the fact we’re big lovers of Brixton Beach. The rooftop pop-up once again switches its identity for the summer months, this year taking on the ultimate urban beach theme in the Brixton skyline. Expect streetfood, beach huts, palm trees and a whole lot of booze. A guaranteed highlight for your summer months.
