Brixton Beach is Back For Another Year of Tropical Vibes

Following the award-winning success behind South Pole Saloon, Big Apple Brixton and of course, the Brixton Beach Boulevard, the Brixton chameleon rooftop sheds its clothes once more and turns into the ultimate urban beach for Summer ’17. Having opened to the public on Friday, the 26th of May, Brixton Beach brings Cuba to London through a carefully curated selection of cocktails, street food and entertainment in the perfect tropical fiesta.

Zap Architects have joined forces with the design team to create a truly bespoke look, juxtaposing art and architecture to make you forget that minutes before stepping inside you were surrounded by dreary brick buildings. Immersive day and night parties, renowned DJ sets, barbeques and exercise classes are only a few of the events to schedule your London summer around.

The experience promises to bring the atmosphere of Hemingway’s adopted Cuba on your doorstep, importing all its adjacent sights and scents along with its exotic foliage. So come down South for Rum Daiquiris, Piña Coladas, Cubanitos or Mojitos sponsored by the likes of household favourites Bacardi, Chandon and iconic Jamaican lager brand Red Stripe, as well as London’s most beloved street food provided from Mac to the Future, STAKEhaus, and then some weekly barbeque chef residencies from renowned BBQ joints every Thursday.

The event of the summer announces itself to be Brixton Beach’s celebration of Cuba’s biggest holiday, Carnival de Cuba, which will transform into a festival of colour soundtracked by afro-Cuban music this July. Additionally, every weekend will host a different performance, headlined by top house, disco and garage artists such as Ben Pearce, Norman Jay MBE, Late Nite Tuff Guy and more. And for those that prefer a more relaxed backdrop to their mojitos, Brixton Rooftop will host a series of rooftop cinema screenings, curated to include both cult classics and some summery guilty pleasures. Whatever your preference is, we guarantee that Brixton Beach will make this summer one to remember.
