Trailblazing photographer and founder of Dazed Media Rankin has announced a new exhibition showcasing some of his most iconic photographs at Berlin’s CWC Gallery. Renowned for his fiercely creative, dynamic photography, this new Rankin exhibition hosts more than 50 of his best works from the last twenty years.
Since the launch of Dazed & Confused Magazine in 1991, alongside Jefferson Hack, Rankin has captured some of the most iconic images of celebrities. Still, he is not exclusively a celebrity photographer. Describing himself as a portrait photographer, Rankin explains: “I see the person, not the celebrity”. He has lensed everyone from Cate Blanchett and Arnold Schwarzenegger to the Queen.
Aside from portraiture, Rankin was behind Dove’s “Real Women” campaign and was also commissioned by Nike and the (RED) foundation for their Lace Up Save Lives photo-shoot raising HIV/AIDS awareness. Rankin is not only the founder of Dazed, but also AnOther and Hunger Magazine, launched in 2012. The exhibition will showcase an eclectic collection of his most striking works.
The CWC Gallery Rankin exhibition runs until 1 April. Click here for more info
