M.I.A Takes a Swipe at Trump in Stunning New Music Video

Following the exciting news she will be curating the Southbank Centre’s Meltdown Festival later this year, M.I.A has dropped a stunning new video for her track P.O.W.A. Structured around a hypnotic sample of The Marcel’s Blue Moon, the track sees the London-born singer chant, “I’m not Rihanna, I’m not Madonna, I’m not Mariah or Ariana / I’ve been around in this world causing drama / The real spice girl, hot girl power”.

But she doesn’t stop there. M.I.A doesn’t miss any opportunity to take it to President Trump, rapping: “Throw up my finger and I’m taking on the (Trump) Tower and Super-kala fascist racist espi-ala-tazors.” The video, which was directed entirely by the singer, also features a Trump-inspired wall at the centre of its set design – a poignant symbol as America debates it’s future in the world.

The track is M.I.A’s first release since her album, AIM, was released in September. Check out the video below and let us know what you think.
