Following the success of the hilarious, thought-provoking and, arguably, necessary first season, ‘Homo Sapiens’ returns with Young and Sweeney embarking on a roadtrip-style visit across the UK with a whole array of new guests lined up to tackle subjects including PrEP, chemsex, LGBTQ+ life in rural Britain and the importance of LGBTQ+ education.
The two visit Westminster in the season 2 premiere episode, joining Jeremy Corbyn for discussions around allotment keeping, jam making and Glastonbury whilst an extended edition will see Jezza tackle Trump, homophobia on TV and trans people in politics. Take a listen to the full first episode right here.
Further guests line-up across the 12-episode season, launched inline with LGBT History Month, actor/activist Alan Cumming, musicians Mykki Blanco and journalist Jack Monroe among many others.
In the pair’s own words:
“We’re beyond excited about ‘Homo Sapiens’ Series 2. The guests we have are truly inspirational and span the world’s of sport, acting, politics and music. Along with this, we went around the UK to speak to people outside of the main metropolises to hear about LGBT life across Britain. From homophobic abuse from a London bus driver as we set off, to unwittingly being booked in to unveil a statue in Yorkshire, we had quite a week…the people we met were funny and heartwarming and we can’t wait to share their stories.”
‘Homo Sapiens’ S2 Ep1 is out now. Check out the official website for further info.
