As it continues to cement its status as the quintessential 21st century disco, Glitterbox has seen whirlwinds of success over the past six months, touring the world and becoming one of London’s most in-demand party. Having become a rightful phenomenon after four unforgettable Ibiza seasons, Glitterbox has built its brand on constantly bringing together the pillars of 2018 disco culture in a creative extravaganza – and it is that extravaganza that the collective wants to celebrate and reflect upon as a way of marking the occasion of their upcoming fifth Ibiza residency. Shoreditch’s Jealous Gallery will be given the Glitterbox treatment in an exclusive celebratory exhibition, one that promises to spotlight not only the DJs and performers, but also the artists and designers that have immortalized the incredible moments that have become synonymous with Glitterbox.
Opening on Tuesday, 13th February until Sunday 18th, Glitterbox’s takeover at Jealous curates the artwork and photography that has followed the party around the world – everything from archive flyers, posters and graphic prints will be on show. Further, original Blitz Kid Mark Wardel will be exhibiting his exclusive original works which will be available to purchase as limited, signed prints, while resident photographer Gavin Mills will showcase never-before-seen photography from all five years of parties. Visitors of the exhibition will also get a sneak peek at new artwork in store for the 2018 season, and, as it is Glitterbox after all, the display will be accompanied by some very special gallery events, to be announced.
The Glitterbox exhibition will run at JEALOUS EAST, 53 Curtain Rd, London, from 13th to 19th FEBRUARY will full programme to be announced at a later date.
