The ‘Gay Christmas’ is approaching, according to some, the Halloween extravaganza being on our doorstep. With a rise in some STIs, gay dating app Chappy are championing safe sex this All Hallows’ eve with an artist collaboration that gives condoms a Halloween makeover.
The new dating app has rapidly made a resounding name for itself on the market, promoting numerous initiatives that are changing the game, including a recent function that alerts users if their photos were screenshot, thus aiming to prevent revenge porn. This time, Chappy wants to remind guys that it isn’t just their outfit that they need to remember this party season. Think more Super Men and less Super Gonorrhoea this year for a change.
With so many dating apps turning a blind eye to issues affecting their users, it’s really refreshing to see an app engaging with issues relevant to their community. From the offset, Chappy have been seen to be doing things a bit differently by taking on headless torsos and unsolicited pics to promote an inclusive, welcoming and safer dating space for gay men to chat and date.
The collaboration united the vision of some of Instagram’s most popular illustrators, turning protection into a true work of art. With this series of adorable designs becoming the new face of safe sex, Chappy do hope that you’re not going to forget to #DressThatD. We think these signature pieces are going to be burned on our brains for a while!
