5 Remarkably Good Acts To Catch at Mighty Hoopla

Sink The Pink and Guilty Pleasure’s Mighty Hoopla bash is just around the corner and, boy, we are excited.

Celebrating the best in alternative club culture and pop music, Sunday’s day event is set to be one of the highlights of the summer calendar packed with live acts, energetic dancing and a whole lot of glitter…

We’ve picked out our five favourite musical names to make the festival’s bill and the sets we’d insist on catching to ensure the most fun possible.

Grab the final tickets for Sunday’s Mighty Hoopla (4/6/17) from right here.

Raye

At one point in January 2017, breakout star Raye had five tracks simultaneously within the Top 50 (see below.) For an artist with only a handful of singles and features to her name, it’s unlikely you’d need any further proof of how big-a-deal Londoner Raye is. Her live shows are also something to behold, mixing her array of stellar solo material with equally 10/10 collaborations (You Don’t Know Me with Jax Jones, By Your Side with Jonas Blue) for the perfect party soundtracking. Keep your eyes peeled for a massive collab between herself, Rita Ora and Charli XCX on the horizon. The trio debuted new track Girls at Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2017 event, prompting us to believe that this girl really can do no wrong…

Years & Years

Pretty much a given here… The festival’s headliners come in the form of enigmatic electro trio Years & Years for a UK festival exclusive set perfect to wrap up the event. Fronted by the ever-wonderful/voice-of-the-people Olly Alexander, the three will grace Victoria Park for Mighty Hoopla’s closing set, undoubtedly packing the same punch their live shows have gained extensive praise for. With the weight of an entire day of partying resting upon them, we’re fairly certain that every party should be rounded off with a Years & Years bang.

ALMA

Newcomer ALMA has been the name on everybody’s lips of recent, causing a stir for her punchy, power pop (and her equally-awesome hair.) Hailing from Finland, ALMA began her career on her home country’s Idols reality talent series before releasing a succession of insanely good tracks (seriously, listen to Dye My Hair right now if you’re yet to) that have since caught the eye of Radio 1 and almost every music blog going. Expect this to be a lot of fun…

Girli

We’ve been Girli lovers since way back when the neon pink star was throwing herself around tube carriages in the So You Think You Can Fuck With Me Do Ya video. It’s safe to say we’ve never looked back, having witnessed the sheer thrill of a Girli live show on numerous occasions and being blown away a little bit more each time. Expect a whole lot of dancing, a whole lot of pink and the occasional flung tampon…

Charlotte Church’s Late Night Pop Dungeon

Pop icon/political activist/all-round hero Charlotte Church brings her wonderous Late Night Pop Dungeon for an evening set sure to bring out the festival’s most exuberant and bizarre moment of the day. The teaser video below doesn’t give these shows the justify they rightful deserve, but you get the bizarre/fantastical gist…
